Some of the regulars in the know are aware that this myajc.com/idolblog social networking site, which launched a year ago, was an experiment. Not to say the experiment is over but due to some management decisions beyond my control, we are having to move this back to the old blog template used by the other blogs on this site (including my radio/tv blog.) This means your avatars, comments and personal pages will disappear in a few weeks. All my old blog entries from 2007 were mirrored on the old site and will survive the transition. The change will occur at 9:30 p.m. EST Tuesday, January 9. From that moment, if you type in www.myajc.com/idolblog, it will move you to an even simpler site called www.ajc.com/idolblog. So easy you can tell your friends and bookmark it! The bosses tell me a new social networking site will be back, possibly midseason but definitely by midyear, no later.
'Free-spirited' Joss in Flake debut
Singer Joss Stone looks set to melt hearts with her new role as the latest Flake girl. Stone was announced as the first celebrity to take the role after a string of models starred in the commercials, including a former Miss World. The soul singer from Devon has developed a personal rendition of the jingle "Only the crumbliest flakiest chocolate, tastes like chocolate never tasted before". The 20-year-old stars in the new campaign which will air on ITV1 for the first time during the premiere of Rock Rivals on Wednesday evening. "She was chosen because she is very free-spirited," said a Cadbury spokesman. "Joss will bring something different to the previous adverts - the jingle has never been sung by one of the girls before." The Flake girls have developed notoriety for their highly sensual adverts which started in 1959.

Fratellis, CSS headline Spanking New tour
The Fratellis, CSS, The Zutons and The Pigeon Detectives will headline MTV's Spanking New tour this spring.Each band, along with two support acts, will go on a three-date tour of the UK.The Fratellis will have support from The Ting Tings and Alphabeat; The Pigeon Detectives line up with The Metros and The Rascals; CSS will play with The Futureheads and New York's MGMT; and The Zutons will be joined by One Night Only and The Script.The Fratellis and Pigeon Detectives shows will stop at Cambridge, London and Liverpool, while CSS and The Zutons will play in Cardiff, Glasgow and Dublin.Currently in its third year, the tour aims to bring new music to six cities across the UK.Tickets go on sale Friday, March 7.> Click here for our review of Alphabeat's single 'Fascination' .

In the age of iPhones, Blackberrys, high speed Internet modems and every other technological advance never even dreamed of in the days of "Star Trek," high school football has joined the wave. For fans on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons, the focus is on the 22 athletes on the field. But just outside the lines there's an ongoing technological revolution. Equipment checks on game day go far beyond helmets and pads. Video cameras, audio headsets and laptop computers allow coaches to gather, communicate and analyze information faster than ever.
